Subject: [Urantia] Foundation's Call For Unity: A Serapatatia Enterprise"And all of this was soberly and honestly considered to be for the good of the world". [841]
The above statement was given by Solonia, an eyewitness to the default of the 2nd Epochal Revelation, in reference to what has become known as the "Serapatatia enterprise", a paradigmatic demonstration of what happens when good is commingled with evil.
"It should again be emphasized that Serapatatia was altogether honest and wholly sincere in all that he proposed."
As are those who sincerely wish to heal the breach that has occurred because of the dishonest and immoral actions of the Trustees of the 5th Epochal Revelation.
"...and he was impatient; he wanted to see some immediate results--something in his own lifetime."
As are those well meaning souls who see the opportunity for establishing the 5th Epochal Revelation in their lifetimes, slipping from their grasp.
"Every time the Garden pair had partaken of the fruit of the tree of life, they had been warned by the archangel custodian to refrain from yielding to the suggestions of Caligastia to combine good and evil. They had been thus admonished: "In the day that you commingle good and evil, you shall surely become as the mortals of the realm; you shall surely die."
One wonders what the fate will be of those whose best intentions for "protecting" the Revelation, nevertheless, caused them to falsely represent its origins, its revealed name and symbols, creating the need for high-sounding calls for unity and respect.
"Eve had told Cano of this oft-repeated warning on the fateful occasion of their secret meeting, but Cano, not knowing the import or significance of such admonitions, had assured her that men and women with good motives and true intentions could do no evil."
Giving explicit or implicit support to the Foundation's false declarations re: the origins of the Revelation and its revealed terms and symbols is to fall into the Cano trap of assuming that "good motives and true intentions [can] do no evil"
"Even though this project of modifying the divine plan had been conceived and executed with entire sincerity and with only the highest motives concerning the welfare of the world, it constituted evil because it represented the wrong way to achieve righteous ends, because it departed from the right way, the divine plan."
The Foundation's lies to the US Government about the origin of the terms "Urantia and Urantian"; and its ever-changing, Clintonesque authorship theories, even if done with the best of intentions, "represented the wrong way to achieve righteous ends". Furthermore, its complicit silence, its failure to correct the erroneous legal record of the Maherraa Appeals Court ruling that declared joint human authorship of the Revelation is yet a further, continuing fall into darkness.
Thus, I find the Urantia Foundation without the requisite moral authority to call for unity, when it has been by their own, unsupportable actions, that so much disunity has occurred. Only by renouncing their former actions as departing from the right way, the divine plan, can they hope to enlist the aid of those who have drawn a moral line in the sand, who refuse to bear false witness against the Revelators.
My heart goes out to all sincere believers in the Revelation who labor to forge unity in the movement, for the good of the Revelation. But beware the fallacy of assuming that this is a unity/uniformity question. Though uniformity is not necessary to achieve unity, moral consistency is. Without that, we will simply be recreating the mistakes attendant upon the 2nd Epochal Revelation.
When things are built according to the law of God, they stand. If not, they fall. Every time. Guaranteed.
Yours in the truthful dissemination of the Revelation,
Phil Geiger
