On
Initiating a New Religious Institution
by Meredith Sprunger
July 14, 1994
"The only
means by which the Fifth Epochal Revelation can be carried throughout the
world and enculturate society is through religious institutions. For over 30
years I have been engaged in an interface ministry between The Urantia Book
and the leaders of mainline Christianity. We have found that the majority of
even the most progressive religious leaders of our time are afraid to risk
their reputation and livelihood by seriously examining and evaluating the
teachings of The Urantia Book. The power structures of the Christian clergy
have treated the book with deliberate and benign indifference. It is now time
to take the next step in creating the social-institutional foundations for
the outreach of the Fifth Epochal Revelation: We must create a new religious
institution."
SPRINGTIME:
A STUDY OF THE FUTURE
-By Henry Begemann
"Since readers of
The URANTIA Book are surely interested in the subject of prophesy, it may be
opportune and helpful to study more deeply what our book says about the
relatively near future. ... The most significant things Jesus said about it
are to be found in section 2 of Paper 176, wherein he said: 'The things which
you now look down upon are coming to an end, but this will be a new beginning
out of which the gospel of the kingdom will go to all the world and this
salvation will spread to all peoples. And when the kingdom shall have come to
its full fruition, be assured that the Father in heaven will not fail to visit
you with an enlarged revelation of truth...' (*1914:5)
A Tribute
to Henry Begemann
February, 1990
"In
1985, Henry presented 'SPRING-TIME', a study of the future which was
published in 'LA LETTRE' No 8, Summer 1985. It is an exegesis of the Urantia
Book showing the reason why this Book has been given to us now. This study
presents the possible future of mankind as founded on the responsibility as
"stewards of truth" of every reader who becomes aware of this Book
being a Major Epochal Revelation."
A Review
of Martin Gardner's book, "Urantia, The Great Cult Mystery"
by Norm Du

"If he can't
debunk The Urantia Book to his satisfaction, where does that leave him? It
leaves him faced with the prospect of having to change or modify his own
belief system, if he is intellectually honest. Subconsciously perhaps, Martin
is trying to preserve his own belief system, and the best way to do that is
to attack that which is perceived as threatening. The Urantia Book is a
threat to Martin, just as Jesus' teachings were a threat to many."

A
Description of the Urantia Revelation
"The URANTIA Papers
(also known as The Urantia Book) are a unique publication of epochal
significance to the people of our planet, Urantia. It contains 2,097 pages as
published by the Urantia Foundation and Pathways (excluding the Pathways
Appendixes section), 1,846 pages as formerly published by Uversa Press, and
is divided into four parts. It tells about Deity, the organization and
administration of universes and the relation of the planet on which we live
to the universe, of the genesis and destiny of man and his relation to God,
and of the teachings of Jesus."
"...the
noblest work of man"
"Do you like to
visit (big) libraries? Yes? Chances are that you may enjoy examining one of
the more or less antiquarian books, which our dedicated revelators researched
and from which they paraphrased when compiling the papers of the Urantia
Book."

"All of this underscores the
tyrannical nature of the board of directors and their fanatical religious

Selected Rough-Cut posts from Phil Geiger
"The
confusion of which I speak has to do with the complicit claims of human
authorship of the Revelation that is the current basis for the UF's copyright
on the 5th Epochal Revelation. This is the current legal position of the UF
relative to their acceptance of the Schroeder Opinion that humans selected,
compiled and arranged the expressed form of the Revelation (in direct
contradiction to statements from Sadler, Christensen, Hales, Mundelius, and
Mills)."

"Unless
the Foundation conducts itself
with wisdom it may breed dissension between itself and the Brotherhood. In
the opinion of the writer, there is no place in URANTIA Foundation for
naiveté or any exhibition of proprietary feeling toward the Urantia
Papers."
William S. Sadler,
Jr. - April, 1958
(Sadly Bill, your worst prophetic fears came true. Urantia
Foundation did not conduct itself with wisdom, did breed dissension between itself
and what you knew as the Urantia Brotherhood (now
known as the "Fellowship", a weak, stagnant, and possibly dying
organization that gives conferences and sponsors booths at New Age Fairs),
and "proprietary feeling" became the name of the game.)
