Concerning some of the material in the Urantia Revelation, Ken Glasziou opines: “Again we must ask why is it there, for even if totally true, the book appears to have gained nothing by including some of this material.”

The Great Time Bomb Error

“I don't understand how anyone could explain this theory to a new reader. I would never be able to present this revelation to anyone if I thought the Time Bomb theory was correct. It's hard enough to bring people to God without deliberate errors. I could never hand someone this wonderful book and say, “Here, read this. It's a new Revelation from God, but to keep you from loving it too much, God's angels put some false information in it.” That's absurd. It would be like Jesus lying and misleading the people during his bestowal. I think it is a great disservice to the personalities involved in putting the book together to pin this scheme on them. It's time to lighten up and give the Revelators and the Revelation a break. I believe the authors of the two Time Bombs articles are 'befogged by much thinking'“. (page 1433)

It's one thing to foolishly claim absolute perfection for the book, but it's quite another to lead other readers to believe that by divine mandate the revelators were forced to use erroneous data, or even worse yet, to intentionally plant inaccurate information for any reason, so-called 'time bombs'.”

How Large is Orvonton, Really?

“Time was when the Milky Way was considered to be about 80,000 light years in diameter. More recently the figure of 100,000 light years has been used. But new studies have shown that the Milky Way has an extensive and massive halo of stars around it and now the figure of 300,000 light years is being mentioned as an appropriate size for our galaxy. In addition, there are a number of dwarf galaxies that seem to be in orbit around the Milky Way. If considered to be a part of the Milky Way, the size of the galaxy is very close to 500,000 light years in diameter. This figure is remarkably the same one that The Urantia Book uses as the size for Orvonton. At the bottom of page 359 and the top of page 360, it says...”

Re: The “distance to Andromeda error.”

The Papers don't give the distance to Andromeda. It’s that simple. Read the text carefully.

“…future students of such a revelation are tempted to discard any element of genuine religious truth it may contain because they discover errors on the face of the associated cosmologies therein presented.” 101:4.1

Re: Ken Glasziou’s Innerface article (Vol. 11, No. 4, July-August 2004) concerning an apparent error in the Papers about the origin of the earth-moon system. “Proof-In-A-Word, #1”
PROOF, (in my opinion), in itself that the Papers were not authored by Dr. Sadler, et al. [At 119:2.5] “No System Sovereign was ever more ardently loved or more widespreadly honored and respected.” “WIDESPREADLY”!! What a gas! -Norm.

“Proof-In-A-Word, #2”
Like “widespreadly,” “unfits” in this paragraph is surely proof that humans didn't write the book. Somebody ought to collect these things. “Unfits,” I love it. –Norm [At 46:2.3] “The atmosphere of Jerusem is a three-gas mixture. This air is very similar to that of Urantia with the addition of a gas adapted to the respiration of the morontia order of life. This third gas in no way unfits the air for the respiration of animals or plants of the material orders.”

Did Sadler & Co. write this?
Did they dream this up, and hundreds of other such paragraphs? I don’t think so.
[At 31:9.10] “These seven groups of Master Architects total 28,011 universe planners. On Paradise there is a tradition that far back in eternity there was attempted the eventuation of the 28,012th Master Architect, but that this being failed to absonitize, experiencing personality seizure by the Universal Absolute. It is possible that the ascending series of the Master Architects attained the limit of absonity in the 28,011th Architect, and that the 28,012th attempt encountered the mathematical level of the presence of the Absolute. In other words, at the 28,012th eventuation level the quality of absonity equivalated to the level of the Universal and attained the value of the Absolute.”

Continental Drift Error?
The Papers say: [At 60:3.12] “75,000,000 years ago marks the end of the continental drift.”
Ken Glasziou writes in the Innerface, Vol. 11, #4: “Drift continues. Satellite pictures show that, taking Africa as a fixed point, the Australian plate moves north at 8.4 cm/yr (4000 miles/75 million yrs); the South American plate west at 3.2 cm/yr; the Arabian plate north at 2.6 cm/yr; the Pacific plate north east at 10.6 cm/yr., etc. Plate movement is expected to continue far into the future.”

Comment: This is scientific and ego arrogance of the highest order. Humans have had the ability to measure continental movement for maybe 40 years out of 4 billion, and here is Ken contradicting the Revelators based on some measured movement, who knows what it is? The Papers don’t say the continents are now welded in place, they simply say that the general drift process has ceased. A general equilibrium has set in. Where would the continents go were they to continue “drifting?” Mars? Venus? They have reached an equilibrium but they’re still floating on top of molten magma, and thus, any reasonable person would expect that there would still be movement, the continents shuffling in place, treading magma, so to speak. It’s a fluid situation. No measured movement on the time scale that humans have had such ability available to them can possibly prove that continental drift is still continuing, and certainly not that “Plate movement [as continental drift] is expected to continue far into the future,” as regards continental drift. Yes, plate movement will probably continue far into the future, but that doesn’t make it continental drift. It’s just plate movement.

Urantia Papers – Science convergence:
Re: Our Solar system’s origin.
The Papers say that our solar system had origin when a passing star pulled out material from our Sun. Up until now, modern astronomy has not agreed and some UB science types have said the Papers account was in error. Now it seems, modern astronomy is converging yet again on the science in the Papers.
