The
Shame of UBRON, the so-called
“Urantia Book Readers Online Network.”
Started by Susan Sarfaty some
years ago, UBRON has never followed the Master’s teachings. It claims to
operate under The Golden Rule, but nothing could be further from the truth. Any
implementation of The Golden Rule must necessarily follow the Master, and UBRON
does not. Regarding list discipline, censorship, and judgment, here’s
what the Papers say:
“Thus did Jesus teach the dangers
and illustrate the unfairness of sitting in personal judgment upon one's
fellows. Discipline must be maintained, justice must be administered, but in
all these matters the wisdom of the brotherhood should prevail. Jesus invested legislative
and judicial authority in the group, not in the individual. Even this
investment of authority in the group must not be exercised as personal
authority. There is always danger that the verdict of an individual may be
warped by prejudice or distorted by passion. Group judgment is more likely to
remove the dangers and eliminate the unfairness of personal bias. Jesus sought
always to minimize the elements of unfairness, retaliation, and
vengeance.” -159.1.6
“The wisdom of the
brotherhood” is a Jesusonian working example of The Golden Rule in
action. UBRON refuses. “Legislative and judicial authority in the
group” is a Jesusonian working example of The Golden Rule in action.
UBRON refuses. “Minimize[ing] the elements of unfairness, retaliation,
and vengeance” is a Jesusonian working example of The Golden Rule in
action. UBRON refuses.
Many ‘voices in the
wilderness’ have been victimized and silenced by the unfair, arbitrary,
and capricious management of UBRON and their supporting clique, and the frozen-in-time
policies of the not-so-Jesusonian ideas of Susan Sarfaty. Concerning the
Master’s teachings, one prominent UBRONer recently told me that,
“This just won’t work on UBRON, Norm.” Indeed, they refuse to
even try the Master’s policies.
