Population Control: Looking Forward

The concept of population control is foreign to most people in the United States. Thus far, the emphasis has been on the problem of dealing with inferior and defective persons after they arrive. However, at some point it will become imperative to initiate some type of race betterment from the top down to prevent the birth of defective, inferior persons.

The population of the United States now has too many persons who are defective mentally, physically, or both; lazy with no intention of voluntarily working; the homeless; indifferent individuals with no desire to better themselves intellectually; criminal types, many of them repeat offenders. Too many mediocre individuals in a nation greatly retards the progress of the nation. Refusal to implement a program of population control can eventually result in the decline, and even the fall, of a once-great civilization. [Remember the fate of the Roman empire: it began to deteriorate and ultimately collapsed.] [72:9:8]

Anyone who doubts the necessity for population control will benefit by reading the book The Lost Children of Wilder by Nina Bernstein. [The author is an award-winning reporter with The New York Times.] As I got into the book, at one point I stopped and asked in amazement: What country are we in? After rechecking, I found that the child welfare agencies described by the author are in New York City in the wealthiest country in the world!
The book There Are No Children Here by Alex Kotlowitz, depicts the horrific living conditions which children are forced to endure in multistoried projects in large cities. This book clearly illustrates the consequences when politicians and the people lack the will to tackle one of the most pressing problems of a nation, namely, population control.

According to the author of Paper 65 in The Urantia Book:
Mankind on Urantia [our planet] must solve its problems of mortal development with the human stocks it has--no more races will evolve from prehuman sources throughout all future time. But this fact does not preclude the possibility of the attainment of vastly higher levels of human development through the intelligent fostering of the evolutionary potentials still resident in the mortal races. In a general way, man’s evolutionary destiny is in his own hands, and scientific intelligence must sooner or later supersede the random functioning of uncontrolled natural selection and chance survival. [65:3:6]

When Adam and Eve arrived about 38,000 years ago they faced the momentous task of purging the world population of defective and inferior strains. When they defaulted and were reduced to human status, they no longer could eat the fruit of the Tree of Life. Consequently, they died before they could accomplish the task of bettering the world races. [75:1:1,2]
[To understand the problems that caused the partial failure of Adam and Eve in their assignment on our planet see Papers 66 and 67. Papers 74 and 75 are also helpful.]

Elijah, when he arrives, will face the same problem as did Adam and Eve: Implementing a program to uplift the world races intellectually, physically, and spiritually. As explained in other papers, Elijah fused with his Thought Adjuster [Indwelling Spirit] so we can be confident he will be well qualified to implement a program of race improvement.

Future Population: Large or Small?
After the catastrophic Day of Armageddon ["the great and dreadful day of the Lord"], world population will be exceedingly small. However, as population increases, Elijah will face the question pertaining to optimum world population: How much is enough? Too much?
Man power is indispensable to the spread of civilization. Failure to increase in numbers up to a certain point prevents the full realization of national destiny, but there comes a point in population increase where further growth is suicidal. Too many people on too little land results in a lowering of the standards of living. In the New World Order there will be an abundance of land. But here the problem is: Vast areas of the earth will be laid to utter waste after the numerous explosions. One of Elijah's problems will be to regulate population growth so that it does not outpace the land that can be reclaimed to sustain population increase.
In any event, Elijah will recognize the necessity for producing large numbers of mortals so as to afford ample opportunity for social and moral development. Optimum stabilization of world population will enhance culture. Elijah will know when to curtail further world population growth. [81:6:11] [Malachi 4:5,6]

In Paper [1] "Is Israel Flirting With Armageddon?" I stated that the explosions of nuclear weapons on the Day of Armageddon will act as a powerful X-ray on every living cell on the planet. The DNA of every living creature or thing on the planet will be modified substantially, hopefully for the better. Will survivors have better vision and hearing, an improved immune system, enhanced spiritual reception, a higher I.Q.? At this point we do not know the changes this powerful X-ray will produce.

We know that large numbers of people who survive the explosions will then die of starvation, disease, etc. In fact, all persons who chose not to come to the third Garden of Eden may be doomed. While the loss of virtually the entire world population is unfortunate, it will simplify the task of purging the world races of defective strains.

Purifying the world races of defective and inferior strains will produce new and more vigorous strains; greatly increase creative potential; increase characteristics of superior traits; develop many new and biologically effective characteristics. The long range goal of population control is to foster a world population of excellent specimens of humanity. [82:6]
