The King's Rebellious Subjects The following short parable, based on the life of Jesus, was written by a student of The Urantia Book. He wishes to remain anonymous at this time.
A king once ruled over many and various lands. Over time, some of these lands, being remote from his rule, and thinking he knew nothing of their lives, went astray and rebelled against him. But he was wise, and therefore did nothing to convince them by force of his rule. For this would make their enmity towards him all the stronger.
So he secretly set upon the throne a trusted brother until his return, dressed in the clothes of this rebellious kingdom, and went to live with them. There he worked, there he labored, and there he lived. Over time, the people began to trust him, know him, like him and even become loyal to him. One day in a spirit of rebellion against the throne, they decided to make this man ruler over their lands, not knowing that he was the very king they hated.
Thus, he had fully won them back into the fold by becoming one of them. And having won over the most wicked of lands throughout his kingdom, it was an easy task to win over the kingdoms of lesser evils.
