HOLY SPIRIT: Holy or Unholy?

The Holy Spirit.
     The Holy Spirit on our planet is provided by the Universe Mother Spirit [also called the Universe Spirit, the Divine Minister, or the Creative Spirit]. The Holy Spirit works as one with Jesus' Spirit of Truth. This dual spirit liaison hovers over the worlds, seeking to teach truth and to spiritually enlighten the minds of men, to inspire the souls of the creatures of the ascending races, and to lead the peoples dwelling on the evolutionary planets ever towards their Paradise goal of divine destiny. The Holy Spirit never drives, only leads. [33:3] [34:5:4; 6:11] [194:2:17]
     The Holy Spirit is everywhere present on earth, but it does not converse with mortals on a one-to-one basis.

The Spirit of Truth.
     On the Day of Pentecost Jesus sent his Spirit of Truth: About one o’clock, as the one hundred and twenty believers were engaged in prayer, they all became aware of a strange presence in the room. At the same time these disciples became conscious of a new and profound sense of spiritual joy, security, and confidence. [194:0:1]
     The following statement appears at Acts 2:2-4: And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
     The persons in the room were aware of a new presence in the room, but there was no rushing mighty wind; there were no cloven tongues of fire. The disciples were not suddenly endowed with the ability to speak in various languages.
     Keep in mind that the Jews and other groups during those times were miracle-minded, sign-seeking individuals. We are told that for several generations after the death of the Apostles and Paul the New Testament was a work in progress. Some religious leaders did not hesitate to revise or embellish the original texts.
     Said the authors of Part IV of The Urantia Book: Do not make the mistake of expecting to become strongly intellectually conscious of the outpoured Spirit of Truth. . . . It appears that the Spirit of Truth comes really to lead all believers into all truth, into the expanding knowledge of the experience of the living and growing spiritual consciousness of the reality of eternal and ascending sonship with God. [180:5] [194:4-7]
     The Spirit of Truth leads mortals into a recognition of the truth: but, like the Holy Spirit, it does not converse with mortals on a one-to-one basis.

Saul's Conversion. [Acts 9:1-18 and other places]
     After Saul's conversion, he supposedly spent over two years alone with God in a desert region receiving revelation. In several instances Saul [Paul] emphasizes that the gospel he preaches is not after man: For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
     In brief, Paul believed that his gospel was the only true one; his gospel is the yardstick by which all others are to be measured. But it was not Paul's teachings that set the standard: the gospel of Jesus is the true yardstick by which all other gospels should be measured. Paul's writings contain an enormous amount of erroneous information that we know could not have come from Jesus. Most likely his information was coming from Caligastia [the "devil"] or another of the apostate spirit personalities who joined the Lucifer Rebellion and who are still on this planet. Apparently, Caligastia was successful in persuading Paul that he [Caligastia] was Jesus. Further, it is plausible to believe that it was Caligastia who presented Paul with the vision which he [Paul] claimed resulted in his conversion. It was certainly within Caligastia's ability to project the Damascus-road vision to Paul: He was created a brilliant Lanonandek Son, a local universe Son of God, by Jesus [Michael] and the Universe Mother Spirit [the Creative Spirit]. [35:0:8-10] [Papers 66 and 67] {See my paper [13]: The Lucifer Rebellion}

     As stated above, neither the Spirit of Truth nor the Holy Spirit converses with mortals on a one-to-one basis. But a rebellious spirit will converse with a person on a one-to-one basis by the minute and by the hour.
     Before we rush to condemn Paul for saddling the Christian religion with so much false or misleading teachings, we should pause to consider that Caligastia and his ilk were and are master psychologists: they follow our every thought and action; they know exactly what makes a person "tick." Millions of the rest of us have also been victimized by these traitorous personalities. Any spirit personality who upholds the teaching of Paul that Jesus died on the cross to pay for the sins of mankind is one of the rebellious spirits who joined the Lucifer Rebellion. Do not be deceived by their charming exteriors. At their core is a black heart: they are cruel, vicious, and sadistic, dedicated to the task of destroying as many souls as possible.

RESPONSE BY A READER

     The following comments were submitted by a reader who has been a follower of the Christian religion for many years. She does not wish to reveal her identity at this time so we will call her "Jane."

     POINT 1. It is impossible to have something two opposite ways: it is either day time or night time, but not both at the same time. In some places in the article the Bible is quoted as the source of information and truth. In other places the Bible version is claimed to be false having been either dictated by demons or changed through the years by men. The attitude of the article seems to be that only those who wrote The Urantia Book and those who follow it can tell the difference between the true parts and the false parts of the Bible. This attitude smacks of vanity and conceit, not to mention being condescending to Christians and others.

     POINT 2. The first sentence states that the "Holy Spirit is provided on our planet by the Universe Mother Spirit (also called the Universe Spirit, the Divine Minister, or the Creative Spirit)". Yet in the gospel of John, chapter 14, verses 15-17, Jesus says that He will ask the Father (God) to give them (the disciples) another Comforter (the Greek word also means Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby). Please note the word "another". Jesus also called the Comforter the Spirit of Truth in verse 17 of the same chapter and in verse 26 He calls Him the Holy Spirit. So the Bible says the Holy Spirit was sent by God the Father and not by any Universe Mother Spirit. No where in the Bible is there any mention of a "Mother Spirit."

     POINT 3. The statement is made that people dwelling on the "evolutionary planets" are being lead ever towards their paradise goal of divine destiny. In other words, people are trying to work their way to this so-called paradise by living better and better lives until they are perfect. It's as if the spiritual contacts are saying 'catch us if you can.' But in John 14:6 Jesus states "I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me," meaning that by believing in and accepting the sacrifice that Jesus made by living a perfect life and then dying on the cross any person can be in paradise upon their death. They do not have to keep trying to live a perfect life themselves either on earth (or anywhere else). The Bible also says that all men (and women) are sinners, meaning that they are separated from God. So anyone living on earth now is far, far away from being perfect or being worthy of paradise.

     POINT 4. Also no proof is offered concerning the statement "evolutionary planets". It does no good to quote The Urantia Book on this matter because no proof of any kind is offered that The Urantia Book is telling any truth. Whereas the Bible has been proven accurate by archaeological expeditions and by the fulfilling of prophecies made in the Old Testament. In fact, on a CBS News broadcast on March 25, 2005, they showed two silver plaques, proven to be 2600 years old, that contained the inscription of the Priest's Prayer from the Old Testament. Consequently, the Bible account of creation, though not completely understood, can be accepted as being true. The theory of evolution is false.

     POINT 5. The article maintains that Paul received his information (gospel) from the devil who is called "Caligastia" although this name for the devil is never mentioned in the Bible. In Galatians 1:17-19 Paul tells how he went to Jerusalem and saw Cephas (Peter the disciple) and James the brother of Jesus. He stayed with Peter for fifteen days. In Acts 9:26-29 Luke writes how Paul again came to Jerusalem soon after his conversion. At first the disciples did not associate with him. But then Barnabas took him to the apostles and Paul explained to them how he had seen the Lord and how he had preached the gospel in the name of Jesus while he (Paul) had been at Damascus. After that Paul was allowed to freely preach while in Jerusalem and "he went in and out among them (the disciples) at Jerusalem.
     In Galatians 2:1-2 Paul tells how he went to Jerusalem to confer with those of repute (disciples and apostles) concerning the accuracy of what he had been preaching. They had nothing to add to or take away from his preaching (vs. 6). In verse 7 it says that they were agreeable that Paul take the gospel to the Gentiles.
     Now Paul claims that he received the gospel through a revelation that was given to him by Jesus Christ himself, see Galations 1:12. But in her paper Lee suggests that it was the devil who gave Paul his message. How can Paul's teachings be false when the disciples and apostles agreed with it and authorized him to go preach it to the Gentiles?

     POINT 6. It seems reasonable to think that The Urantia Book was dictated by Caligastia [the devil], and his demons. It has no proof for its statements and postulations. Whereas, as previously stated, the Bible has been proven to be accurate.

     POINT 7. If the writings of Paul are false, then not only his writings but also the other books of the New Testament will have to be eliminated from the Bible as they were written by disciples and apostles who agreed with and approved of Paul's teachings! This also means that the first four books of the New Testaments must be done away with as they were also written by disciples quoting Jesus and telling about His life. But if the first four gospels were done away with then there would be no writings about Jesus at all. This would mean that the complete New Testament cannot be quoted (either as accurate or inaccurate) including the book of Revelation that is quoted in another writing.
     If the first four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) have to be eliminated, according to the above argument, then the life of Jesus is also eliminated. That excludes the statement "the gospel of Jesus is the true yardstick by which all other gospels should be measured."

     POINT 8. But by believing that the gospel of Jesus is the true yardstick of all gospels, then it follows to reason that believing in His death AND RESURRECTION is the true way to reach God and spiritual maturity, not by trying to live a perfect life now or time in the future.

     POINT 9. The Holy Spirit DOES CONVERSE WITH MORTALS ON A ONE-ON-ONE BASIS. In 1st Corinthians 12:1-11 Paul discuses how the Holy Spirit works with and through individual people by giving them spiritual gifts.
     There are nine of these gifts:
     1. A message of wisdom (tells something to happen in the future);
     2. A message of knowledge (tells a present or past truth);
     3. Wonder-working faith;
     4. Powers of healing;
     5. Working of miracles;
     6. Prophetic insight;
     7. The ability to distinguish between good spirits and bad spirits and their respective utterances;
     8. The speaking of unknown tongues;
     9. The ability to interpret (such) tongues.

     The Holy Spirit does talk TO people and through people. There are many, many, many people both dead and alive today who have experienced one or more of these spiritual gifts in their own lives. To say that only the devil can talk to a person and that the Holy Spirit of God cannot is to credit the devil with more power than God.

     POINT 10. The following paragraph appears in Lee's paper:
     "The persons in the room were aware of a new presence in the room, but there was no rushing mighty wind; there were no cloven tongues of fire. The disciples were not suddenly endowed with the ability to speak in various languages."

          A. The Bible never says that there was a mighty wind in the room with the 120 disciples. It says that there was a SOUND like that of a might wind, and the sound filled the room. Not only the people inside the room heard it, but people outside of the room heard it and came running to see what was going on. (Acts 2:2, 6)

          B. The tongues of fire written about in the same chapter of Acts were not little-bitty, flickering flames of fire sitting on the disciples' heads. It seems more likely that these were spiritual flames that could be seen by the disciples. The Amplified Bible writes it this way: "And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them." John the Baptist said that "one was coming after me who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire". Matt. 3:11. Fire in the scriptures often is symbolic for judgment. But whatever happened it cannot just be bluntly stated that nothing happened.
     On a personal note, myself and two other people witnessed the Holy Spirit leaving a person who had taken back his own self-will and it did appear as a very large flame of fire.

          C. The disciples did talk in other languages: Acts: 5-12. The men who were in Jerusalem at that time heard the disciples talking in different dialects and languages. The scriptures go on to list the dialects and languages that the men knew and understood. But those who had just been baptized in the Holy Spirit were Galileans who had never studied foreign languages. The different languages were unknown to the speakers but understood by the hearers. This miracle has been reported in this age.

     POINT 11. On this issue the article is correct in that the Holy Spirit leads. He does not push. However, the Holy Spirit did warn Paul not to go in a direction he was wanting to go. So the Holy Spirit leads, warns when a person is about to do something or go somewhere where God does not want him/her to do or go. The Holy Spirit also comforts all along the way.
     One of the worst sins if not the worst (and unforgivable) is to credit the work of the Holy Spirit to the devil and his demons.

     POINT 12. The Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Truth are one and the same spirit. In John 14:16-17, Jesus calls the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Truth, the same and one spirit.
